Robert De Niro played the character Louis Cypher in the movie Angel Heart. It’s the story of how Lucifer recaptures a soul that got away from him. It is the classic struggle of good and evil that lies within us all, and bears witness to the inherent character flaws that are the very essence of being human. A tragic and beautiful journey to find life, love and the sensual human experience. 

Being a winemaker, I consider it my job to push the extremes of winemaking to give you new experiences. This wine was me taking a great leap of faith into the unknown realms of Portuguese based varietals. The quest was to take these tannic monsters (and their like) and make something sexy that would seduce you and wake the devil that lives in every one of us. Hence, the Devil Inside.

Touriga National, Tinta Cao and Souzão are co-fermented and then blended with Teroldego and Cabernet Sauvignon. The combination is intriguing, with all its massive structure filled in with sensual fruit and velvet textures. What would normally bite and leave a mark is tempered with the touch of a velvet glove. This wine is a seduction. So be seduced, and enjoy the experiences it inspires.
